High cheekbones and prominent cheekbones are features of an attractive face. At the age the skin loses more and more moisture and elasticity, so they wander structures by the sinking skin seemingly down. An extensive tissue and skin tightening is performed under general anesthesia and can last up to several hours. The skin is tightened, excess skin removed and sucked on request fat cells at the neck. Through the combined lifting of the two regions a rejuvenating effect usually arises depending on the age of 8-12 years. Depending on one's own ideas and alternative, less invasive methods can be used.

Skin tightening of tissues and toning (SMAS)

Prolonged facelifts require larger incisions and adjacent to the tightening of the skin also a structuring of the layer of tissue between the skin and muscle. For the incisions, there are various techniques. SMAS stands for Superficial Muscular fascia system and referred to the layer of tissue between the skin and muscle. The streamlining of the SMAS layer provides sustained for years lifting. The tissue at the muscle layer is not as quickly wrinkled as a simple skin tightening.

The skin is loosely applied to the tightening of the SMAS layer with low skin tension, again. Redundant skin is removed. The skin sutures are placed as inconspicuously as possible. In hairline is clamped to avoid unnecessarily injuring many hair roots.

Usually a small incision in the skin and only a small correction of the tissue under the skin. The large proportion of the facial skin is not detached from the fabric and simple streamlined. It is usually a combination of the mini facelift with little use of the SMAS technique.

Facelifting SMAS S-LIFT

The S-Lift is started with an arc that begins in the hairline in front of the ear, then continues to run in front of the ear, is pulled under the ear with a bow and ends behind the ear. Skin and tissues are tightened extensive.

Facelifting SMAS Soft-LIFT

Marketing term to refer to individual SMAS face lift without standard.

taut cheeks

Large folds of skin on the face and excess skin and tissue that sags down, leading to jowls and others can best be streamlined operational. Here, the tissue should always be streamlined under the skin and modeled. From a simple tightening of the skin is not recommended, unless you at a very early stage, the skin must have been just a little tightening.

streamline double chin

A double chin is normally in a separate OP often combined with liposuction or neck lift performed in the area and has not directly to do with the offers of a facelift.

After lifting by SMAS

With the SMAS technique can be dispensed with oppressive associations that are necessary in other procedures for several days. Here a light dressing that is applied only hours after the operation to protect enough.

On the first day after surgery and to check wounds should be refrigerated to keep swelling in check. Get up and slight movement is already possible.

On the second day, the patient can leave the hospital, before the hair can be washed with lukewarm water with the help of the nursing staff.

A week after the operation, conservation is announced, but short walks are beneficial to a recovery from.

you have to sleep on your back with lifted head and a pillow under the head mountain. Cutting grimaces and chewing very solid foods should be avoided to ensure that the loosened skin can grow well.

Resulting from the operation hematomas are relatively small and are also included.

The scars are maintained after the removal of the dressing with clean cotton swabs and Bepanthen or panthenol, later scar ointment can also be used.

In the second week after surgery, the last threads skin usually be removed. The work can be resumed in most cases after 2-4 weeks.

To prevent discoloration of scars, sun and heat (eg. By sauna) to avoid the area of scars for at least 3 months in order to prevent discoloration of the skin.

People with glasses can cause irritation of the scar behind the ear. Then it's recommended for two to three weeks, no glasses to wear.

Not physically strenuous sports such as golf have to be suspended for four weeks for sports such as tennis, football or squash should be avoided because of the high risk for two to three months.

A completely different method are threads of gold, which are stuck to the cheeks into the lower skin tissue. Guide needles are inserted under local anesthesia in the uppermost layer of the fatty tissue and then drawn in the gold threads. Then patches are glued to the treated area, which can be removed after 3-5 days. The redness subside relatively quickly and the small puncture wounds are sorted by wound healing in about a week out of sight.
