Remove tattoos

Every fourth let at least one of his tattoos removed. Many methods are on the market and confuse rather than that you could decide more specifically. We have compared the methods with each other.

Tattoo history

There are tattoos for 7000 years and quite unlike the first became the general assumption tattoos not in Asia but in the northern Chile. Tattoos had a social, ritual, or religious background, unlike today, often and could subsequently no longer be removed. No longer a problem today but is to remove tattoos or correct. To do this, there are different ways.

Remove tattoo by laser

In the standard laser treatment (YAG lasers, Ruby) have been and still, the colour pigments in the skin with a complementary color are irradiated so long in up to 10 sessions until the color faded. Complementary colors are colors that mixed result in a shade of gray. In this method, the skin suffers burns and it may form scar tissue

Another laser treatment (PicoSure) is based on a method introduced in 2012, where the colour pigments are destroyed by short laser pulses and then be removed via the bloodstream. This method currently promises the best results and requires less than 3 sessions at tattoos no larger than two Palms.

Tattoos from a German legal Tattoo Studio use usually safe colors under specifications of the Tätowiermittel regulation from 2008 tattoos from popular holiday countries or from one of the illegal Studios often don't adhere to rules and standards and choose sometimes cheap and harmful dyes, which accordingly increase the risk for complications.

Surgically remove tattoos

The surgical option can be selected for small tattoos, if you want to avoid the release of color pigments and the associated risks. This, the tattoo is cut out and closed again with a seam. Different patterns allow larger treatment areas. Also here multiple sessions must be scheduled depending on the tattoo. At larger oblong tattoos a partial removal can be done initially to remove another part after a skin stretching.

Skin grafts to remove tattoos

Also the skin graft to cover part of the tattoo removal with the scalpel is sometimes an alternative, especially when no satisfactory result can be expected by a shift in the skin. The quality of the skin should have a similar texture such as the target region, otherwise a more noticeable difference in colour or a different amount in the transplanted area can remain after the tattoo removal. The Association should remain until about 6 days after the tattoo removal. Then the logo is carried out the first time. The stitches are removed after approximately 2 weeks. The grafted skin should be cleaned after the wound healing with creams.

Tattoo remove via skin scars - dermabrasion, formerly Salibrasion

In this method, the upper layers of the skin with a cutter or a sand-blasting machine are removed. Fine crystals which are blasted and sucked through a vacuum at high speed on the skin is carried out the mechanical removal of the top layers of the skin. A skin scars is often then applied if a surgical procedure is not suitable. The skin grows back after treatment. The advantage of this is that color pigments go only to very small extent in the body and no chemical substances are used. Inflamed or conspicuous areas of the skin (irregularities, acne...) should not be treated in this way. Usually 5 to 10 sessions for months are required for the procedure.

New tattoo design or tattoo motif using excess tattoo

The simplest solution is probably the most widely used method, in which the old tattoo on taetowieret just is. The no longer unwanted tattoo can be integrated into a new tattoo. It can be also a part of the old tattoo as a preparation for the new tattoo lasered off motif, then add it to.

Below you will find some rarely used and less popular methods for removal of tattoos

Chemical peel to the tattoo removal

Chemicals (such as fruit) on the skin are brought, so to remove the upper layers of the skin and expose the color-bearing layer of the skin of the tattoos. The color can then from mechanical impact (Emit...) or chemicals are removed. The use of chemicals entails a long healing period, as also adjacent areas outside of the tattoos are attacked.

Heat treatment with power

The current that flows through the skin created in the scope of application of heat and burns the skin layers. Thus will the dye by the heat produced in the skin layer burn. This invasive treatment method, unnecessarily much tissue affected is taken, which is not part of the skin layer with the color pigments and thus should not be treated. The healing process takes many weeks to exfoliate dead skin cells and are completely pushed off from all concerned layers of the skin and the skin is regenerated.

Waterjet cutting

The waterjet-cutting method uses a concentrated beam of thin water under high pressure to cut the skin. In this way, removed the color-bearing layers of the skin and the colour pigments with rinsed out of the skin. Similar to the procedure usually only under anesthesia can be performed as in the mechanical skin abrasive. The remote areas of the skin to regrow and accordingly be treated with creams.

Risks for tattoo distances via laser

Risks due to the removal of the destroyed pigments consist, have nothing to do with the procedure itself, but with the dyes that were originally put under the skin in the. Due to lack of legal regulations for the colors used for tattoos, they contain heavy metals and unlock cell poisons under exposure to light. Colors must not be tested prior to launch, but must tattoo studios since 2008 use colors with ingredient labelling. However, the risk is relativized when you consider that remain after the tattoo up to 75% of the color not in skin but via the lymphatic system in the whole body and also store a (colorized lymph and others. Some laser techniques, carcinogens could make according to a study from 2007 at tattoos with red.

- Bestimmte Farbstoffe
- Bestimmte Konservierungsmittel
- krebserzeugende Amine
- polyzyklische aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe

Details dazu siehe: Council fo Europe: http://www.coe.int/t/e/social_cohesion/soc-sp/resap_2008_1%20e.pdf
